Convict 100 is approaching.
The plan so far is to do the initial equipment installations on
Saturday April 27.
Meeting point is the Coffee shop at Wisemans Ferry, opposite the
Service Station.
Time to be decided. 0800 sounds like a good idea.
The tasks for the day are
Set up mast on Blue Hill. New 12 meter crank up for 3 repeaters.
Set up mast at the top of Jacks Track. 8 meter with UHF Spoke.
Set up mast at RFS. UHF for Base Radio.
Set up mast overlooking 10 Mile Hollow. Pump up on Trailer with VHF
Spoke.
Access to Blue Hill and Jacks Track are 4WD only.
10 Mile Hollow is 2WD with good ground clearance.
Final installation will occur on Friday May 3.

John King is in the process of planning for this event.
The route for the ride is from Speers Point to Swansea to Catherine Hill
Bay and onto Lake Munmorah. Down the coast this year and not around the
lake.
The website provides a little more information about the event but there
is still a lot to seek if we are to assist.
Although it is still in the early stages, would you please advise your
availability ASAP.

The plan is to meet at the Gwandalan Lioness Park, Checkpoints 12 and
15.
0700 Meet at park an set up a Ch 96 Spoke Repeater in a suitable area.
0800 Deploy as required
0900 Race start
1500 Close down and pack up.
I will do something for breakfast if possible.
Communications will utilise the Sydney Hub set up near Flowers Drive
and the Singleton Spoke repeater at the Transition point.
This should allow for access to the network on Channels 93 or 96 UHF
and 76 VHF over the whole course. Choose the most appropriate channel
for the point allocated.

This event is coming up - on Saturday 4 May.
Plan is to set up masts etc on the weekend of Saturday 27/Sunday 28 April
then install and test equipment on Friday 3 May with the pack up after the
event.

For the Bouddi Run please assemble at the Killcare Surf Club, 81 Beach
Drive, Killcare, at 0700 for breakfast and a briefing. Deploy by 0800.
Communications will be on VHF hi band channel 21 or VHF Portable 2.
The team so far is Des, Julie and John from Sydney, Warren subject to
work and Ryan from Central Coast.
The run goes from the Surf Club up into the national park and return. It
has 21k and 14k events with the 21k starting at 0800.

The next Sydney event is the Great Adventure Challenge, October 20.
This event is different to the usual adventure races as the teams
comprise 8 members with 4 racing at any given time. Team changes are
permitted at each transition.
There will be up to 7 points to cover on the day, however leapfrogging
may allow it to be covered by 4 or 5.
The location will be to the west of Lake Macquarie with the start at
Wangi Wangi.
First leg is a Kayak to Dora Creek.
The Cycling and Running legs are to the west around Mandalong.
Points we need to cover are
Start/Finish Wangi Wangi .
Dora Creek.
Bike TA at the end of Sauls Rd.
Bike/Trek TA off Tobins Rd.
Bike TA Mandalong Rd and Middle Break Rd.
Repeater Site.
I am looking for a suitable spot for the repeater.
All of the transition points are easily accessible.
Several of our members will be unavailable for this event due to the
VRA AGM and a proposed training event in the New England.
